Zinc Trivalent Chromate
Plating
Zinc chloride plating is a plating process without the use of highly toxic cyanide. Cody Metal Finishing is completely cyanide free, in all of our processes.
Chromate conversion coating is a type of coating used to protect and seal zinc, cadmium, copper, silver, magnesium, and tin alloys.
Zinc chromate plating is primarily used as a corrosion inhibitor, a primer, and a decorative finish.
The trivalent process is a post-treatment dip that seals and prevents oxidation and is ROHS COMPLIANT. The zinc trivalent chromate process is named after the chromate found in the chromic acid, used in the bath.
